Introducing FLORA CRANIOSACRAL

Welcome to FLORA CRANIOSACRAL, my newly fledging Craniosacral Therapy practice.

I’m a biodynamic craniosacral therapist who has recently moved to East Sussex after 18 years living (mostly) in London. I had the privilege of working as a dancer & somatic play facilitator for 15 years before founding FLORA CRANIOSACRAL in January 2024. I am really excited to be bringing my embodiment and improvisation skills into the context of touch therapy.

I studied biodynamics with Steve Haines & Jane Shaw at Body College London, graduating in 2023. The course was superb, informed by standing on the shoulders of a rich lineage of bodyworkers’ practice, exploration and insight, as well as the latest clinical research in neurobiology. I have become passionate about safe, relational touch and all the good it can do!

As of September 2024, FLORA CRANIOSACRAL is based at two multidisciplinary clinics - one in Lewes, the other in London:

📍Valentine Voice Care, The Old Coach House, Lewes, East Sussex - Mondays 1-5pm (appointments 1:15pm, 2:30pm, 3:45pm) & Wednesdays 9am-1pm (appointments 9:15am, 10:30am, 11:45am)

📍St Margaret’s House, 21 Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green, East London - Fridays 1-5pm (appointments 1:15pm, 2:30pm, 3:45pm)

In essence, Valentine Voice Care specialises in supporting, educating and inspiring professional and non-professional voice users to live their best vocal lives. The holistic team is made up of highly experienced singers, actors, dancers and teachers who’ve trained to be body workers, speech therapists, dialect coaches, counselors, nutritionists (the list goes on). It was my choice Lewes practice because I admire founder Kate Valentine’s vision and felt a kinship coming from a performance background myself. I love how much singing and live performance there is in East Sussex. I’m excited to develop specialist knowledge in vocal health while retaining the holism of a biodynamic approach. More broadly speaking, I want to help people find ease in their bodies, sip from the cup of their own resourced presence, and connect feeling with expression and expression with feeling. This might look like supporting a baby to cry and ‘tell their birth story’ or supporting an adult to downregulate their central nervous system, allowing any unnecessary tension held in the tissues of the body to melt away.

Moving to East Sussex, I wanted to create a bridge between my old life in Bethnal Green and my new one in Sussex. In practical terms, I needed a base to continue treating my East London clients. I’ve always been fond of St Margaret’s House, an idiosyncratic and historic East London establishment. I’ve been there for all sorts of reasons over the years: yoga classes, massages, craft markets, poetry nights, art therapy sessions! It’s a community hub with a lot of character and it felt like the right place at this juncture.
